*What is the central issue that people debate when they talk about your topic or discuss your research question? In other words, what is the main controversy (or what are the main controversies)? What do people disagree about?
I think the main issue people would debate is if sex education should be taught in schools. Even further, should schools teach abstinence or safe-sex. I think people often disagree on whether or not underaged individuals should be intiteled to privacy rights, and recieve medical attention and medication without their parents concent.

I believe this is an important topic. I believe it will be an iteresting read for my target audience, and meet the requirement of the assignment. I believe this based on the positive feed back from my peers and the activites that the assignment has been based on. I found this evidence in my own work and my peers responses. Based on some of the research i have done thus far, i believe this is an issue that affects everyone on a personal level, which makes it easy to relate to; another reason i chose to write about it. I like the fact that people have different opinions which can spark debate, give people something to talk about.

I have mixed emotions about this controversial topic. Where do parents fit in the discussion with their kids? Are teachers equipped with all the up-to-date information needed to get to their students? Reality is that kids are gonna have sex - period. Should safe sex be taught too? This is not an inner city issue only like I have heard some say. Arrrgghhh!!!! Good topic, Marissa!!
